The work of Philippe de Monte, a renowned 16th century composer and master of the Habsburg Imperial Chapel, includes more than 800 Italian madrigals, French songs, around 40 masses and 250 motets. This recording is dedicated to the spiritual madrigal, a musical form that Philippe de Monte devoted himself to intensively.
