The ensembles Cappella Mariana and Goeyvarts Trio combine the old and the new, styles and genres, voices and instruments. For this project, one of the most significant living Czech composers, Martin Smolka, has written a new composition titled "Maria is".
The entire program is accompanied by a medieval organetto, whose captivating sound immerses the listener in the story of the life of the Virgin Mary.
A video recording of two excerpts from the program was created on the occasion of a concert in Opava on September 27, 2022, which took place as part of the Saint Wenceslas Music Festival.
The program will be presented again on February 20, 2024, as part of the FOK Early Music Series in Prague.
