The programme highlights Belgian and Czech artists who strive for an encounter between old and new music. Cappella Mariana, the Goeyvaerts String Trio and organetto player Catalina Vicens perform a diverse repertoire throught 1000 years of musical heritage, ranging from the sources of polyphony to a new creation by Martin Smolka via the great names of the Franco-Flemish Renaissance and the genius of Arvo Pärt. They let you taste the beauty of moving works that sometimes pay homage to the virgin Mary, at other times they are dedicated to deceased people who are are permanently commemorated in soothing music.
